A reminder -- Necromancers and Consent · on 3/8/2010 11:52:47 AM Generate a link to this post in a pop-up window. 3039
To clear up some confusion regarding Necromancers and the rules on consent:

Necromancers, with a few exceptions, operate under the same consent rules as everyone else. This means...

1) Unless a necromancer is open, killing them without consent is against policy.

2) Even though necromancers are guarded and cannot be closed, you do still need to establish consent or find out for certain if they want to participate in PvP with you. WARN COMBAT is an excellent tool for this, as is a quick whisper.

3) "But Bob is a necromancer and my character hates necromancers" is not consent.

4) Stalking/following people around and watching them cast necromancer spells that aren't affecting you (or your spouse) is not consent.

5) Anyone (guilty or not) accused of necromancy in town does NOT get consent on their accuser and does not get their name. This is by design. Demanding your accuser's name from the local authorities will get you nowhere, and going after the person who accused you is against policy.

6) Remember that necromancers are players too, and while necromancer vs. anti-necromancer can be very fun for both sides, be careful that it doesn't become harassment.

The first rule of Book Club is... · on 3/7/2010 10:34:26 PM Generate a link to this post in a pop-up window. 3038
Bookwyrms rejoice! Two new volumes have made their way to the Royal Library of Muspar'i. They are Isth'hhtaw'hhs Shh'oiyvh-ur (Gesundheit!) and Understanding the Society of the Desert Jewel.

The first is a religious work regarding the 'inside scoop' behind the Dragon Priests, while the second is a contemporary editorial piece designed to help outsiders (and possibly insiders) understand the structure of Muspar'i and her ruling body. But you don't have to take my word for it...

ACCUSE NECROMANCER Updates · on 3/4/2010 3:35:40 PM Generate a link to this post in a pop-up window. 3036
1: The message a Necromancer gets when he is successfully accused now explicitly states that he is being locked PvP Open and will point him in the direction of appropriate help files, so that there will be no more confusion about this point.

2: Guilded, non-Necromancer PCs 5th circle or below now require a large group to have a chance to accuse. It is still possible to accuse them, but not by a lone PC. Commoners and Low-circle Necromancers are not protected in this manner.

This is live everywhere.

Consume Flesh Update · on 3/3/2010 8:21:27 PM Generate a link to this post in a pop-up window. 3035
Two changes have been made to the Consume Flesh spell.

1: The spell now accepts "nerves" as a valid choice. This remains visually indistinguishable from casting at someone's skin.

2: Typing gibberish into the CAST command no longer costs your attunement or causes you to lose the prep. However, both forgetting to do the thanatology ritual first or attempting to heal a completely healthy body part will still cause this to happen.

This is live everywhere.
